World Frog Day Celebration at Sylhet Agricultural University
, an animal welfare organization of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) organized a "Frog Festival" at Sylhet Govt. Pilot High School, Sylhet on the occasion of World Frog Day 2014 (26th of April 2014). “Save the Frog” sponsored the one-day program. Md. Hasem Ali, Head Master of  the Sylhet Govt. Pilot High School inaugurated the festival. Dr. Tilak Chandra Nath, Lecturer, Department of Parasitology, SAU was present in the program as a special guest. More than 60 students of different classes participated the festival delightfully. The festival included seminar on importance of frog, quiz competition, free hand art, slide show & refreshment. Mr. Joy Prakash Roy, General Secretary of RRADHIKAR delivered a lecture.

Starting of Central Teaching and Research Animal Facilities at BAU
On May 24, the "Central Teaching and Research Animal Facilities" has been inaugurated by the Vice-chancellor (VC) of BAU, Professor Dr. M.A. Sattar Mandal. Professor Dr. Md. Aktar Hossain, ex-VC of BAU; Professor Jalal Uddin Ahmed, the Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science (FVS), BAU; Professor Motaher Hossain Mondol, ex-VC of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University and other teachers of the FVS were present at the occasion.
Successful Completion of TOT in Elephant Health Care and Management
During April 1-11, 2011, Dr. Bhajan C. Das has successfully completed a training course on "TOT in Elephant Health Care and Management" from Guahati, Assam, India. Dr. Das is the first BDvet who got such type of training in Bangladesh. In future, Dr. Das wants to work as a resource person in this field. Dr. Das is an Associate Professor at CVASU.
International Workshop on Ticks and Tick-Borne Pathogens in Bangladesh and Its Control
An international workshop on "Ticks and Tick-borne pathogens in Bangladesh and its control" will be held on 27-28 April, 2011 at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, Bangladesh. In the workshop, Professor Bruno Betschart, Institute of Biology, University of Neuchatel, Switzerland will be present as the special guest.
Database for Bangladeshi Veterinarians
A good website has been launched by Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC). The council is now developing a database for all registered veterinarans of Bangladesh. All veterinarians of Bangladesh are requested to be added in the database. For this, please download the 'Doctor's Data Form' available  in the 'Notice Board' of the website and send the duly filled form to the address mentioned. For more information, please visit the official webportal of BVC. The initiative is indeed a time demanding step for uplifting veterinary profession in Bangladesh. (posted: Jan 29, 2011)
